October 2023 Financial Transparency

September 23, 2023 marked 6 months since Sheri, Cynthia and Lauren met with Doyle Smith (Oregon Overseer) and started work on this investigation and crisis. The hotline was set up and started receiving incoming calls on the 24th of March 2023.  Since then, AFTT has worked relentlessly to  expose CSA/SA in horrific numbers beyond anyone's wildest imagination.

The workload is far beyond what we anticipated initially.  The hotline is manned at all times by at least one if not two people.  The database continues to grow on a daily basis and the organization and management of that alone is taking 3-4 people.  Survivors are being worked with on a daily basis to provide therapy resources. We are growing the education aspect for survivors and families of survivors.  In 6 short months we have formed a strong organization that we foresee being here for many years ahead and for the innocent ones that are being victimized today.

Current Organization

  • Cynthia Liles, Co-Founder and Licensed Private Investigator, leads the investigation.

  • Lauren Rohs, Co-Founder and Survivor leads Survivor Relations.

  • Sheri Autrey, Co-Founder and Survivor leads Exposure & Business Relations.

Most importantly, Cynthia, Lauren and Sheri work cohesively in all aspects of the organization.

Administrative Expenses

As of October 2023, due to a generous donor, for the first time they will be receiving a salary of $330 monthly to help offset living expenses.  Per 501c3 laws only a certain percentage of funds can go towards admin and salaries.  As our donations increase this will enable Cynthia, Lauren and Sheri a more reasonable compensation towards living costs.  Up to this point they have been working entirely pro-bono on this crisis.

Giving Update

We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation on behalf of AFTT and thousands of survivors for the generous donations received thus far.  An amazing group of donors stepped up with a $55,000 matching donation drive that started on Sept. 23, 2023, and to this date the donation is 87% matched.  The total received as of Oct 6, 2023 is $48,070.  This will be matched up to $55,000 and the total will then double. Fund Recovery, Little Hooves and Big Hearts, and AFTT will be splitting the totals of this fund. Once we reach this matching donation each foundation will receive $36,667 each. This will bring profound change and save lives.  However the need is great and will remain a need for many, many years to come.

Funding Usage

Many people are not aware of the costs associated with therapy as a result of child sex abuse and sex abuse crimes. Of course these costs vary due to service provider and location. On average, the following rates apply:

  • 5-day inpatient: $4,000 - $10,000

  • Month of Inpatient $30,000 - $50,000

  • Month of Outpatient $12,000 - $15,000

  • Trauma Therapy $250 - $450 per session

  • Regular therapy $150 - $250 per session

Advocates For The Truth's goal is $250,000. As of today October 6th, 2023 AFTT has received $176,574. Those funds are being used to cover overhead of AFTT in addition to providing therapy to international survivors. We are currently providing ongoing trauma therapy to fourteen international survivors.

Overhead Expenses

Costs of overhead include but are not limited to:

  • Legal costs

  • Investigative fees

  • Wages for 2 full time investigative staff

  • Travel for investigative work

  • Supplies

Allied Funds

Little Hooves and Big Hearts (LHBH) and Fun Recovery are not connected to AFTT in any way financially and all donations made to them go directly to LHBH or Fund Recovery.  These funds have partnered with AFTT only in the sense that they have set up a separate account that all donations made for this crisis within “The Truth” go only to survivors who have been victimized by “The Truth”.

Little Hooves and Big Hearts (LHBH) current goal is $250,000 which as of October 2nd, 2023, has received $17,728.05  Additionally, the founders of LHBH have generously donated a “Healing with Horses” equine therapy camp for six North American survivors (valued at $9,000). In addition to their generous “Healing with Horses” experience, they also donated legal services, trauma therapist advisory, and administrative fees directly associated with adding our mission to their charity organization which is a continuous cost that the founders will continue to underwrite due to their hearts and love towards survivors.

During each “Healing with Horses” experience, six sex abuse survivors will receive one week of equine therapy. This will include: learning how to utilize coping skills, mindfulness, and developing community all while working with horses. LHBH will be a continuous community and provide sustained support for each survivor that attends a “Healing with Horses” experience. The average cost is $1,500 per person. (Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Donations are needed for lodging, transportation and dinner.) Please consider sponsoring a survivor or an entire camp. This sustained care and survivor community will create a long-lasting healing effect.

Fund Recovery’s current goal is $250,000 which as of October 2nd, 2023 has received $122,696.31.  Through Fund Recovery we have assisted 92 survivors who have been referred to Fund Recovery for a various range of therapeutic services. Via Fund Recovery each survivor has an option to find a provider or have their current provider come in-network for trauma therapy, out-patient and in-patient care. There is an urgent need for a number of the survivors to receive in-patient care. Per the average costs listed above, we have already tapped out the donated funds.

We understand that some may have trust issues regarding how finances are handled and know that transparency on finances is imperative.

The need for help for these survivors is immense and every donation counts. No donation is too small, so please donate as much as you can. If every single person were to donate even $20 on a monthly basis, the results would be astounding. The survivors and AFTT need your help and support.

Together we are making a difference: raising awareness, creating exposure, saving, and healing lives.

In transparency,
Sheri Autrey, Cynthis Liles, & Lauren Rohs
